Today, we manufacture around 40 unique brands, including many world-renowned classics, that are sold on regional, national and international markets. Over the last 175 years, our business grew to become Landewyck Tobacco – one of the most respected 100% family-owned, independent tobacco manufacturers in the world today.

We manufacture tobacco and cigarettes ourselves exclusively in Western Europe (Luxembourg and Germany) and accessories in Hungary, and give great importance to maintaining the highest manufacturing, working and product standards that are socially acceptable to our over 1000 employees, consumers, partners and importers worldwide.

Founded in Luxembourg in 1847 by Jean-Pierre Heintz, husband of Josephine van Landewyck
First manufacture established within the former fortress of Luxembourg
New factory built on Hollerich site in 1897
First foreign subsidiary established in Trier in 1925, becoming the 2nd biggest tobacco producer in Germany
Construction in 1963 of a 2nd cigarette factory in Luxembourg, joint venture with Lorillard USA until 1978
Main acquisitions: Róna Hungary in 1993, Biggelaar Tabak Holland in 2001, Torrekens Belgium in 2007
New subsidiaries created in France (2009) and Spain (2012)
2016: 80 million Euro investment in a new automatized manufacturing site in Luxembourg
